Questions For Rogers People

I'm thinking about buying a Rogers (Swivo-matic?) hihat. I've never tried one or even seen one in real life.

What would be a great Rogers Hihat stand to be on the lookout for - and why?

What at the differences in models/year class etc. and what are some good/bad features of these?

If anyone on the Forum has answers to my questions or can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

There is a 1 piece footboard,and a 2 piece........

1 piece is more rare, and is the same that Buddy used.......

Charlie Watts STILL uses the 2 piece.............

Make sure clutch is correct..........should be 6 sided.............

Hi Blair

Thanks for the quick response!

I was thinking Charlie Watts. Is there a specific model number- year?

I can look up hihats in the catalogs that I have on CD at home too.

I just didn't know "what" I was to be looking for.

What is "6 sided"? And I guess I will have to look at some closups of the clutches in the cats. if they're available. Do you have have any photos to send? You can email me if you do - that would be a good start for me.

I have a nice WFL hihat I'm using with my 58 Gretsch kit but was thinking I'd like to try a Rogers with my new Gretsch USA Custom kit (being built at the moment). I actually like it a lot....Apparently it is like one that Ringo used at one time. It's pretty sturdy...I'm surprised it's holding up as long as it has (I've been using it since Dec 2009 with no problems). It's nice and lite-weight. My Pearl H-2000 is a monster - I like it as well - and no comparison to the WFL (the Pearl is designed and built far better of course). But some Vintage people might think otherwiseBowing haha

It's the first one that came up on my Google search - but I'll keep looking.

Pardon me for being a little slow here....but I still do not know what you're talking about regarding the "Japanese" site???

I don't think I was on there at all.........or if I was....I did not know it.

Please explain what you mean by that.

Another subject......but Rogers too - I think:

I just bought this on eBay today....the seller says it's a 40's Gretsch - I can't find it in the Gretsch catalogs but it does look like a 1938 ROGERS stand to me. At least it looks like the one pictured on page 58 of that years catalog,

Can anyone confirm if this is Gretsch OR Rogers?

The seller says it's a Gretsch Lockie....I've never heard of it and can't find it in the catalogs.
