Question re: cracked K - Page 1 - Vintage Drum Forum

Hi Guys:

I have a 16-inch Istanbul K that sounds wonderful right now but has an arc shaped crack along the bell. The stamp and signature are shown but the crack is very difficult to see. Is there anything I can do to "fix" the crack or should I just enjoy it while I can and give it a proper burial when it goes?

If it was me, I'd drill a small hole at each end of the crack to hopefully stop it from growing, play the snot out of it and give it a decent burial when it dies. JMHO, YMMV, etc.
