Question on the History of a Unique Slingerland Snare Drum

Loading...

Hello All,

I just joined the site (great resource!), and I am attempting to identify what model of snare drum I've recently purchased. I will upload a pic as soon as I can, but it's an early 70's Slingerland COB 8" deep x 14" diameter with 12 lugs on top and 6 on the bottom (offset). The drummer I bought it from said it was called "the 2:1"

If you have any thoughts, please let me know.

Thank you,

JazzDrummerChris

That is correct and there are some resources on the home page. vintagedrumguide.com click on the Slingerland image and then look for snare drum catalog pages...

That model was sold for one year: 1979. Rare drum.

I have played one recently on a friend's kit. He let me play around with the tension a little bit. It was a nice sounding drum.

Congrats,

Patrick
