i posted this on another forum, but i'm posting here too in case someone has answer...

i just got this zildjian / zak starkey stick bag from a CL ad and i have some questions about it. hopefully someone can help.

my question is:

- was this a retail item at some point? i'm almost sure i seen it before (as part of zildjians artist series bags) but i can not find any info on it, so if it was a retail item, is it now discontinued?

first, i should say this is not actually a stick bag. this is a prototype bag, probibly used to see and feel what the end product will look like.

when my friend opened it, he noticed that in the pocket were the sticks go into is sewn shut (were the red meets the blue in the open pic) it does not feel like there's a void below the sewn area, to give me a hint that maybe it was sewn that way by mistake.

it measures 20 inches long a when open measures 20 inches wide. all the other pockets work as normal, it has a zipper and the zildjian logos are glued on instead of sewn on.

on the outside the red and white colors on the "target" logo is silkscreened. the inner material between the inside and outside vinyl feels like a plastic sheet to make it ridged which is not uncommon.

otherwise it looks and feels like a regular stick bag. the guy said he got it from a "merch guy" which makes sense that its a prototype. i also deal in drum promos. so odds are its a prototype.

i don't think its a "knock off" as he had other cymbal and stick bags for sale and my friend bought something that had a hang tag and barcode on it (which he scanned)

i'm sure i can find someone to open the seam and make it usable to sell. its just a oddity that you don't normally find.
