Hi Folks,

Over in the Netherlands I'm trying to sell this kit.

Without mentioning the price I'm thinking of (in order not to prime you), what would you pay for this kit if you wanted it?

Specs:

Technically restored and customized vintage Olympic (by Premier).

12/16/20

Only the shellpack (no cymbals/hardware/snare)

no wrap but a very well executed special paint job

insides of tom painted gray

nearly new amby's on top of toms

good enough vintage A on bass-batterside

free floating floortom feet (not on picture)

cleaned up/tuned/ready to play

Thanx in advance, Bart

150 , at the most 200

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Because the are a lower Premier line, and the mods,I would say closer to 250.00,if they are international sizes,I have played some olympics of that era and they are really nice drums IMO,and I kind of like the unique finish.

Probably some folks could come up with more realistic price that are familiar with your local/regional market.

Add $200 in Canada....$450, or more, for the guy who loves the finish. Up here the nicer MIJs are $200-$400; these are better than that I assume?

As a local, I think your price is reasonable or even at bit low.

However, it might be that it's not your price but the lack of specific buyers that holds selling this lovely kit.

1) Beginners don't buy shell sets and are looking for 2 up, 1 down kits.

2) collectors / gamblers / traders are after 100% original and / or profit

3) Players might be interested in your kit as a nice side-kit next to their extended, expensive main kit. And they prefer shell sets because they already have their snares and b20's in stock. I would search for them and convince them with a sound-file. They buy with their ears and far less with their eyes ;-). And off-course, find the right stage to sell your kit: I guess you could find the right audience at marktplaats.nl / tweedehands.be as well as at the Dutch Vintage Drum Meeting facebookpage. And fill your advertisements with the buzzwords drummer look for: i.e., vintage, jazz, 70's, well-made, custom, unique. Last but not least: invest 10 min. in making new pictures. Preferably in the sun, your pictures have a darkish feeling to it.

Good luck selling these beauties!

Aha, those are very usefull tips. Thanx a lot Wouter!

Today a guy called that was seriously interested and willing to pay.

I had two dealers calling, wanted to have them for 100 euro's, because, the said "the wrap is gone". One of them even said "it's not worth much, cause you ruined it." I just hung up. Bastards.

The piccolo snare with Flo-Beam strainer should alone be worth in the $200 USD range. Rest of the kit probably at least another $200 USD.

Selling the whole package together I'd ask 350 to 400 USD, maybe more if you find the right buyer and cymbals/hardware all included.
