I always viewed these wires as top quality, but some part time builder is spewing off saying these are garbage and should be avoided....thoughts?
PureSound problems??
All 4 of my snares wear them, never a problem & they sound great. There's always that person who comes up with some ****-eyed idea about something, no matter what the rest of the world says.
Last year I had a drummer tell me the reason he didn't use cases (nice set of Premiers) because they damaged the drums. Riiiight fella.....
I love them ! A bit pricey sometimes but I never had any issue with them and getting them to sound good on any snare.

I have one and I wasn't that impressed by it in comparison with wires I own, cheap Gibraltar ones. Actually, I had bigger trouble making it sound the way I wanted than those. But maybe I chose the wrong model, got a wrong specimen or I'm just not capable enough myself.
The sound difference certainly didn't seem to justify the price difference. But maybe I just tune my snares in such a stupid way that no strainer can help it, I dunno.

I heard nothing but good things about them. I guess if you don't know what you're doing installing them, like hitting the edges or one side pulled after activating the throw,..you'll crap on them when it's you.
People are like that.

I use them on 15 of my 20+ snares and never had a problem but have plastic straps on most/ this guy has trouble with the 'ribbons' but I've never had issues:

He complains that the snare string is not string at all, but coated wire and its cutting into the shell and roughing up the bed...no problem for me.
Puresound are great wires. If you dont want expensive then there are the cheaper wires and some of them are good sounding. As has been mentioned usually not been installed properly.

If you're talking about the blue wires that use too come with puresound wires then he's correct they will work your snare drum over.

Installing snares can be tricky for some people, I once had to fix a guy's snares because he didn't know that you had to release the strainer, he didn't understand why they wouldn't tighten.
