I recently came into possession of a fantastic Max Roach snare from 1950. It has a renown strainer which has a bit of chrome loss, and some rusting where the chrome used to be. I'm thinking of using the water/aluminum foil method to remove the rust and create a soft edge for the remaining chrome. I'm hoping this will help avoid further chrome loss and will protect the strainer from degradation. Any safer/more effective ideas?
