My wife and I have been pretty much staying in the house since February. We will venture out for necessary trips to various doctors' offices for procedures that cannot be handled with video virtual doctor's appointments.
During our self-imposed socially-restricted lives, I have had the urge to do some vintage drum projects. These two projects were a lot of fun, fairly inexpensive, and relatively easy to complete. I have owned these two sets of bongos for several years. The Leedy bongos had been re-wrapped in Satin Flame to be used with my Clown Barf set that I traded away in 2013. I ordered wrap from Precision that is very close to the Black Diamond Pearl wrap of my Leedy Shelly Manne set. The Ludwig bongos had been re-wrapped to match a Red Sparkle Leedy set that I sold back in 2013. I Acquired some Silver Glass Glitter wrap that is a fairly close match to my 1966 Rogers set. One bongo set has tom-type heads and rims and the other bongo set has traditional bongo/conga heads and rims. I haven't tried it yet, but I think that I could use either type of head and rim on either of the bongos.
