Project Snare Drums For Sale

Loading...

1. 1970's Ludwig Acrolite 5 x 14 - Shell painted with primer and then off white paint. Comes off with some thinner and looks like a decent shell underneath. The person also sprayed with the lugs on the shell. Otherwise a complete drum ready for some TLC. Should clean up fine has a pointed B/O badge, and a few missing washers. Also some paint on the edge of the badge, but with a Q-tip and time it should clean up fine $85.00

2. 1958 Leedy Shelly Manne 5 x 14 in faded Gold Sparkle. For the most part all original and in good shape. some replaced screws on extended butt side. Strainer arm is rusted. $285.00

3. WFL Porto snare 5 x 13! WMP this is in very good condition has extra holes behind the missing strainer. Add a classic strainer in nickel and the holes are pretty much covered. I have most of the strainer, missing the strainer arm. $200 WFL badge is excellent

4. WFL 6 x 14 double lug snare in WMP. This snare has some issues in regards to the missing classic strainer. It must have been dropped on the old strainer. Some WMP behind strainer chipped. I think with some TLC the shell can be pressed together becuase of some wood splinters. Originally bought for a parts drum and did not have the courage to part it out. Missing the classic strainer the hardware is in nickel. $175. WFL badge is excellent

I will work on getting pictures if you are interested in any of the snares let me know. I have determined that the web site is my time and these projects will never get done because of it. Both are a labor of love except one involves more elbow grease!

Here is the WFL and Leedy. I just recently found the strainer for the WFL on Ebay and paid about $75 for it, but it completes the drum. Besides the shell the WFL is very nice and complete.

The Gold Sparkle Leedy is also complete with a few small issues with screws on the strainer and butt.

Both are projects and will need work.

Also, not my normal photography and had to use an older camera I have at home

Yes, the drum was dropped at one point on the strainer. That strainer was damaged and I replaced it with the new strainer. The WMP behind the top of the strainer is missing and the interior ply's were affected by the drop.

I originally was going to part this drum out, but with the strainer replaced I could not do it!

Other then that everything is just fine.

I guess you could also re-wrap it and fix the wood. I will take it to work and try and get pictures of the interior of the shell.
