Hello All,
Thought I'd start a thread where we can review new products that we've tried recently.
I'll start:
I'm not a shill for this item, in fact, I don't even consider myself to be brand loyal with heads or sticks or drums for that matter, I tend to go by ear mostly and overall feel of things, which is why I was so pleasantly surprised when I picked up a set of FAT CAT SNARE WIRES at my local music shop for my new Ludwig snare I just finished. They were only $14.99. They sound fantastic on an Aquarian snare side with a Remo Renaissance batter. The unique feature is an adjustable set of inside wires flanked by two sets of regular wires. You can tighten or loosen the middle snares to your preferred sound to get extra sensitive response at low volumes. I spent some time experimenting and hit upon a perfect mix. They really sound great. One feature that I didn't like but can live with is that the adjustment mechanism stands up higher than the rim, so you have to be extra careful if you set the drum down on a table or the stage floor not to puncture your snare side head or damage the unit. Overall, very pleased with FAT CATS! And my new Ludwig 8 X 14 that I cut down from 12 X14 did away with the modular mount and re-cut bearing edges and snare beds is just absolutely smokin. Having Fun here...how about you?
