No worries, Jon ;-)

You may trace out the correct time period by yourself here:

http://www.drumarchive.com/Pearl/

When the price is approx. US-$ 1100, I guess it even makes sense considering to buy (cheaper?) such or a similar drumset from Europe or the US including shipment charges, right?

What makes you eager on that drumset? The thing that it's just vintage? Or that it's an old Pearl kit? Or the wrap? Or the 'matching' time era for the songs you're playing with the band?

The reason why I posted here in the first place was actually more about getting to know a bit more about the set than what the store told me. Their info amounted to "1964 Pearl Set" - which you all confirmed wasn't right...

I'm much wiser now, thanks to you all.

The used drum-market in denmark is incredibly limited. A lot of 80's Tama, 90's Premier and Yamaha...

The true "Vintage-market" is even more limited! Some pretty Ludwig-, Rogers-, maybe a Star- or Ajax-kit, but that's about it...

The Pearl-kit I linked to, just stood out to me.

The finish looks great. I've been looking for a kit with those sizes. And I like that it's unlike what's availible in denmark right now. Also ( - for all my vanity, this is of utmost importance! -) it sounds delightful!

For that - i'm willing to pay a bit more than 'any other' kit out there.

Hell I'll pay top dollar for less, if it tickles my fancy.

But I'm not willing to pay more than what's actually reasonable. And I'm not willing to overpay by more than what the beforementioned tickle might persuade me to.

1100 dollars is stiff!

I could buy TWO sets in the states and have them shipped here for less...

Keep your eyes wide open and stay tuned with PATIENCE. If you give it time, you'll reach a vintage paradise, that's what I can nearly promise you.

There are still so many vintage drumsets out there (and yes, even today: bargains) that the great vintage lord will be good to you, too, one day ...

Ralf, as you know, being from Germany, we also face VAT and Taxes of 30% of the orice INCLUDING the postage - and the postyage of a complete kit from the USA is quite hefty. And it costs the same to send a high quality kit....

What is more, the seller of a cheap kit often can´t be bothered to pack it up and send it.

So generally, cheap sets shall be found locally.

In Denmark that means Den Blå Avis or Trommeslageren.

The only things that warrants import from the US are the exact item you just need - or drums like Supras, that are relatively plentiful in the US, but not here.

The UK market is better for us EU members, with good quantities of Premier kits at good prices, no VAT and cheaper postage. Check ebay.uk or mikedolbear.com

Regards

Jon
