That was my initial response! In the past, I would have sent a kind email, asking how he came to this pricing. Now, I do nothing, knowing that those informed interested buyers know what these are worth.

I will still send a very carefully worded email to a guy like this on occasion, but sometimes it generates a negative response. You're right; anyone who is interested in buying this piece of hardware already knows what it's worth. The seller will soon find out the error of his ways.

There just seems to be an abundance of equipment know-nothings out there. I went into Russo Music Saturday in Asbury Park, NJ, and was shocked to see what they were asking for vintage Rogers and Slingerland sets; $3495 and up. I mentioned it to the kid behind the counter, and he said he'd pass it along to the drum guys. Russo is a really nice music store, but I'm afraid the person who set these prices is clueless as to street value.
