From Mike Curotto

The seller has been advised to sell the snare separately...nothing is definite yet.I don't care either way.Mike Curotto

Oh, my bad jonnistix. I thought you were saying that all the drums would be separated. I just re-read your post, and noticed you were talking about the snare staying with the kit.:o

Mike, Things to consider about sonorlite, it`s a shell made of Scan. birch compressed. The 9 ply lite tom shell was 6mm thick and 50% lighter than other sonor 9ply, thicker shells. It`s all about the shell. The rest of the drum consisted of Phonic and/or Sig hardware. The BD and snare were 12 ply Scan. Birch compressed and 50% lighter than other 12 ply Sonor shells. The early 80`s came in Genuine Rosewood veneer finnish option, the later 80`s came with Rosewood finnish veneer option. Both had custom option for sizes and snare machanics. The strainer on the one in your photo don`t look Sonor to me but could be. The chance of a loose badge is slim and none !!

As far as price`n goes, find out if that is Genuine Rosewood veneer or the later Rosewood finnish veneer before you decide !! Lot`s of people didn`t like haveing to find out that difference.

Again Sonorlites` are all about 9 ply 6 mm shells. BD and snare will be 12 ply and all are 50% less weight than other of the same ply !! Phonic and Sig hardware !!

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

It does look like Sonor strainer to me. I have several Sonor snares that use that strainer.

Any chance your friend would loose the BD and wait for a correct one ?

That`s what I would do, then open the biddibg war at thirty five !!
