Special Thanks to Daddynowhere

Taking suggestions as to how to remove that Remo logo. This is an older head (will not spray paint) and it is coated.

Thanks in advance!

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

hello, well I remove the logo (note the logo on the head above) and I remove it with acetone, with quick movements, in your case I think this can work for you.

Restore is about 74% done.

Dropped off the hoops at Anderson today - for them to cut inlay grooves into them. Bought them there too.

You guys are missing something though.........this head is COATED. Acetone, fingernail polish remover, goo gone, etc. can NOT be used, as it eats away the coating as well. Been looking all around the internet - can not find the solution to this.

Hi, nice work on the restoration. I recently picked up a Star 13" Tom, no hoops, no T-Rods, just the shell. I've since modified it to take modern T-Rods and I put some modern hoops on it, so it's not fully original. I was not too fussy about it and didn't want to go to the trouble sourcing the old MIJ T-Rods. At least this way I get to play it and it actually doesn't sound too bad at all.

Here are some pics of before and after.

Enjoy. Coffee Break2

Just a thought. How about trying a steamer? Could just soften it enough to scrape it off with a fingernail.

Don't want to be a downer but I can't see how you'd get the Remo logo off a coated head - I imagine the ink seeps into and becomes part of the coating....they probably designed it that way.

I very much hope you can prove me wrong!
