Preserving the finish-painted then stripped

Hello

I have a champagne sparkle 1960's Gretsch set that was painted gloss blue then black over the blue and I have stripped the paint and the finish is gorgeous. it still has a dark hint of black which makes it look richer. could the paint over the wrap have preserved the wrap.

What do you think? if someone gives me detailed instructions I will post pictures today.

thanks folks

Hello TDK Yes absolutely the paint helped to inadvertently preserve the finish underneath

not only from smoke and UV damage but also from all of the light dings and scuffs that the paint absorbed rather the wrap

Congrats on successfully removing the paint

without damage to the wrap during the process

Did you use the graffiti remover ?
