Premier uk 12/16/20/14

Hello you all, as I felt in love with vintage kits I found an old Premier on one of those listing websites, I'm trying to identify it.

The owner claims is from around '65 he bought from an elder in the 90s now this guy took the wrap off and painted it so it's a bit harder to recognize.

I'm going to have a look to it next week as it's only one hour from my town any vintage expert that can confirm is from around that era? I have searched the web for models from 60s on and doesn't seems legit to me!

the bass drum and rack tom look to be early/mid 60s and the snare is a 60s 4x14 Royal Ace. The floor tom looks later and possibly an Olympic model (their entry level line) with triple flange hoops. It appears to be an 8 lug 16" so late 60s/70s and international size. The rack tom will be pre-international so will need special order heads from Remo which are available and not too expensive. The bass drum could be either standard 20" or Pre-international so best to check. Wires for the Royal Ace snare are very hard to find so if they are damaged or missing then it's a mission to get it usable.

Premier make great drums but they get less love than their American counterparts. With the refinish etc you shouldn't pay too much for this kit. Good luck

Andrew
