I picked these up on eBay last night. I had a pair like these I bought new in 1973........sold them in 76 with a kit. Nice drums. I'm thinking these may be late 60's maybe early 70's? I may be wrong - anyone here know by looking at the seller's photos?

I'm in Canada and the seller is too so the price was right - no USA exchange rate - and the shipping was only $35 (that's $25 or so usd) from Toronto to BC where I live. Usually when I buy drums/hardware the shipping is crazy across the boarder.

Congrats, they look great!!

I feel bad for you cats having to pay all that extra shipping when we're only separated by a "line in the sand".... never has felt right about that...

Ya - and the state of our dollar compared the US dollar - it's crazy.....we were at par only a few years ago.

Now Mr. Trump is going to put a 20% tariff on our lumber going across the line. That war was fought all the way to the Supreme Court a few decades ago with the finding, for us (Canada), that we do not have an unfair advantage regarding the price of lumbar. The stumpage fees and all that goes into our price that we can sell it for is calculated differently (not unfairly) than the USA lumbar. The outcome of all this is not going to be good for the USA in the long-run. The USA may just be alienating itself to the extreme....IMHO. Enough about politics.........thanks for the nice comment Kevin. I think these are 60's into maybe early 70's from what I can tell so far.

I've been looking at the on-line Premier catalogs and it looks like the external shell mounts (that are on the ones I bought here) discontinued in the late 50's. The 60's and 70's catalogs I've been looking at all have tubes connecting the drums and the stand mounts from inside the shell. I'll have to wait until I get the drums to have a good look to see if they've been altered - after-factory.

Cool ! 70's nice - thanks guys. I will probably like the after market diamond plate mounts. My RB Gretsch timbales have them and I've been using the 10 on my late 50's rail mount (see photo here).

Kona before you put or drill holes to the drum if it has the mount inside drum put a regular cymbal stand it should work.
