Premier Superace Snare

Hi Guys,

I won a Superace on Ebay in Australia here last year and it was advertised as being restored. I bid and won it and when it turned up...WOW, what a shock to the system! it was horrible and it was shocking. the original wrapped was stripped and replaced with contact, snare wires wouldn't engage, tuning lugs were all different sizes and not original.

I locked it in a cupboard for nearly 12 months and then decided to send it to this guy https://www.facebook.com/kentvilledrums?fref=ts

and see if he could do anything with it.....low and behold...I now have a beautiful looking and awesome sounding vintage premier snare.

he re-done the bearing edges, fixed the original snare mechanism by moving the pins higher, re-wrapped. I got sourced slotted tuning bolts and correct era badge. the finished product.

Great job on that one.

Some finishes look best to me on certain brands. Gloss Black looks best on classic Gretsch, WMP on Slingerland Radio Kings. For me, Gold Sparkle looks best on Premier.
