Who on here owns one? I won one over the weekend on Feebay and I should take possession before the weekend. The pro's and cons and your overall experience would be greatly appreciated. I will post pics when I receive it and its been restored by the original owner not long ago. I guess I will find out in a couple of days!

The mounting pins for the dual snares have to be 100% straight or you will have tuning problems.

I'm experiencing some snare rattle due to a bent pin..... still working on it.

Other than that, I'm well pleased with my Royal Ace from the sixties!

To Roosto: from what i can see the throwoffs are different, other then that I don't know. The Royal Ace has the throw off just like the picture posted (almost like a 2000 serie) and the Super Ace has the throw off that's connected from inside the drum

Yes, the wire pins need to be straight, hammer or bend them straight as much as possible. Baskey has replacement wires: http://www.baskey.moonfruit.com/#/snare-wires/4566171381

hi guys,

here is a pic and some info from the ebay listing. it was listed as a royal ace (i knew it was a super, after prowling/stalking on here!). the seller contacted me straight away and gave me the option of withdrawing my bid as he couldnt change the listing name. it looks ok to me, going by the info listed and he has listed some other premier stuff as well.

i cant wait to get it and have a play around with her.

She's sweet. You'll enjoy that one. Just watch the tip of the lever, they're prone to breaking off. I have one where the tip broke off about 1 1/2, having a tough time getting it recast.

I stay away from anything that says, "restored by the original owner"
