Hello all:
I just acquired a Premier Super 4 snare drum. Great for me - however, someone has cannibalized it and removed the original rims and free-floating hardware. Does anyone have a Super 4 or Royal Ace 4 that would be good for parts? I'd love to put this back together to use. Doesn't have to be showroom beautiful - just functional.

Well, Any of the Premier 14 inch cast hoops will fit the Super 4m but try to find the ones with the beer barrel tension rod holes
What else do you need?
I really need the correct rims and free floating components. The shell, lugs, and tension rods are ok. It will likely take a donor drum to put it together.
Finding the snare assembly will be difficult, finding one that still functions will be even more difficult. Most were over tensioned over the years, which not only stretched out the wires but grinded down the stops and bumpers that were put in place to prevent over tensioning in the first place.
I'll suggest Ebay for parts, I've had very good luck finding the occasional odd parts to entire mechanisms.
You may want to consider selling what you have as is and buying one that is intact to play.
