Premier identity

The Premier drum on the right in this photo looks like a pre-int 12" but the one on the left is more mysterious. Or is it? Maybe a tenor marching drum. It's lumped in with a pile of scrap in an auction. I don't need them but hate to see them go to waste, too.

You know you are going to buy them anyway,so why ask?LoLoLoLo

Just messing with ya...that big one looks to be a 12 by 16...maybe 12 by 15?

I bought a Red Sparkle Premier 12 by 16 last year for $50 to make a BD out of..but still need to buy wood 16" rims and heads yet...

you're probably right Blair but only if they'll split them from the rest of the junk and only if they'll ship to me. I've asked but I bet they won't.

It certainly looks 15" or 16" and 10 lugs. Apart from a tiny BD I'm not sure what else I could use it for. A shallow FT or a large deep snare maybe? It seems almost entirely worthless but for some reason I'm drawn to these thingsSailing2

Gretsch used to offer a 14 by 16 RB badge drum..so thats where I got the idea for a 16" BD..

There is a picture of Elvin playing one with Trane in Sweden I think.....

That snare and tom...those are the Pearl drums I hate with a passion...Lame

If you have to get it all...at least it is summer there, and you can use the 13" in your back yard in the firepit......and be sure to film it too please!

If only it were Pearl but it's actually a complete Century kit which is pretty much as low as it gets. They only want the equivalent of $75 for the lot but offered the Prems to me for $65 on their own, thus valuing the kit at $10. I just don't need them that bad and the shipping would add another $20. It would just take up space in my very full drum room.

I picked up one of those tenors, a 70s 16x12 Birch 8 lugger a few years ago. Re-modelled as a bass with a 10 and 13 added, my six yr old plays it. Sometimes I take it out for those Lilliputlian style venues...

Well that's just too cute. I have my party set up which is an 18" Carlton Tenor (now with Olympic clamp on spurs), a converted Premier 14" marching snare as FT and an unidentified MIJ 12" rack tom. It's a great little kit but would probably look like a monster rock kit next to yours Spart
