Premier Hi-Fi snare hoops

I just bought a Premier Hi-Fi snare in the brushed aluminium finish and it has triple flange hoops instead of the usual die cast. I have seen them with TF hoops before (member DJ_Fontana has one) but is this factory given that it's a 10 lugger? (I read they became 8 luggers later and TF hoops were introduced later). Everything else seems correct down to one Everplay head and New Era wires.

Cheers

In 72...it was 10 lug DC rims..

in 73...10 lugs ...TF rims..

in 75...it was 10 lugs...TF rims and new style lugs....

So,your drum must be 1973....

They did 8 lugs with DC..but those were the Brushed Chrome Resonators only.....

I have a 6-1/2 by 14 Brushed Chrome that they only show in the 72 catalog.....I may want to flip it if you are interested Andrew!

Did you see the natural wood Prem 2001 that is ending soon on Feebay?

It was at $125 last I checked....I would grab that if I were you....

Thanks or that Blair, something learned today already it's only 7:15am.

Why would you want to flip your 6.5? It's a nice and rare drum isn't it? I bought this one as a friend of mine who bought my Soundwave kit asked if I could find a suitable snare to go with it. So it'll be either the Hi-Fi or my 35. I'll know once I get the Hi-Fi in a week or so. I love the 35 and use it a lot so it'll be hard to let it go though. How much you want for the 6.5?

That wood 2001 belongs to a forum member here I think. If it was aquamarine shimmer I'd be in. Did they do a natural finish? I though it had maybe had the wrap removed.

Not playing much anymore is why I would want to sell...

Buying drums/cymbals out of habit more then anything now...I guess...have been buying tons for 27 years...hard to give it up overnight...!

also, buying them as they are art pieces...and I like fine art!

Would need around $325..for the rare 6-1/2 by 14 BC snare...as that is what I have into it...

The DC rims were change to TF before I got it..but had a 10 lug bottom Prem DC,so would include that at that price...

LMK....

thanks

Also,am going to sell my rare Burgundy Pearl circa 1972 Prem 22,12,14,16 kit..

It was a 202 kit to start, but someone drilled for the infamous Pearl double tom mount, and added a 8 by 14 Prem "Pancake" or "Tuna Can" < < (as they called them at the factory I just learned!) tom...so extra holes...but still...very pretty finish....

Will offer that at cost also...will have pics in a few days..

RE the wood finish 2001 snare..they did offer that factory....

Thanks Blair. I can't afford that snare unfortunately. I'll have to stick to my shallow one. I have a mint wood Hi-Fi in BDP as well (although the mild pitting on the top hoop sticks out a bit in this pic).
