Yes those are marching drums, part of quads or quints. There was a kit on ebay no long ago that was rigged as a 5 pc. 12 & 13 fitted as mounted toms, 14 fitted with legs, and the bass was a std 20. It was covered in a cool looking "hammered" gold wrap. The guy selling them said he had no idea what they were so we talked via email, he changed his listing and sold them the next da for all the money. It sounded bad to the bone as far as projection in a medium sized 2500-3500 sq ft hall. Very nice tone for modern rock, and using a lower tuning he said they were just super the way they were set up. So, you can make a really cool kit if you want.

That's what I thought. Just seemed strange coming with a matching bass drum that was not a marching bass drum. The guy I got these from had them attached to a double tom stand. Do you think he drilled them for that mount or was that the way they came for a marching setup?

It is possible he ordered them this way, more likely he set them up this way. It is a really cool set up for playing out. You get some really cool sound from what I am hearing from the guy that sold the gold ones on the bay. Try them out this way, you might be surprised, and might even find that you like the sound. I can imagine they sound very unique set up like this.

Let's forgot that Slingerland had a set back in 1979 called "cut-a-way" same like premier toms you posted but not the same cut...Toms were 6';-8'',10'',12'',13'',14'',15'',16''...18" floor tom and 22" bass..They had a set in the 1979 catalog named "power play"...Mikey
