Thank you for your answer, but pic you put is from 60's scans in 1958 catalogue is snare system like on my pics and firs time lugs are seen in 1961.cat.That is reason why I thought that, since I don't have scans from 1959.and 1961.I suspect that some old stock of snare systems were put with newer lugs on shell.I can not believe that someone cut the shell to be 4",but also those lugs were never mounted on deeper shells
Of course, the lugs on your drum were intended only for the 4" Royal Ace.
Your drum does not have the Super 4 system as shown in the catalogue pic of the Super 4. Catalogue illustrates the newer Royal Ace snare system with the older lug design. Your snare system is that of the older Super Ace (as seen below).
In comparing the images of your drum with a 4" Royal Ace it seems obvious that... not only do they appear to be of differing proportions... the distance between lugs and hoop can be seen to be less on the actual 4" R.A.
Furthermore, the throw-off lever on your drum has had its top broken or sheared off (they are often found broken) and its ill-fit is evidence that the shell has been cut down to somewhere between 4" and its original depth... probably 5.5".
Due to the complexity of the snare system's mounting, it would be quite difficult if not impossible to cut down the bottom of the shell.
Have you examined the shell's inside for evidence of mounting holes for lugs such as those on the 5.5" Super Ace?
I f I'm right, they would not be equidistant from top and bottom.
