Premier Copper Timbales

Loading...

Hi All,

Just picked up a set of late 60's Premmier copper timbales. Can anyone post a picture of the stand these mounted onto. I simply cannot remember. I do know it would have been a Lockfast base and upper secdtion but was it just the standard cymbal holder that you mounted them from? Also, and positive identification on a year would be nice. Not sure what year the catalog scan is from. Person who sold them sent it to me.

The mounting inside the larger timbale is the older U shaped type,

See pics.

Sizes are 9.1/2" & 12" by 7" deep.

I have all parts stripped and ready to clean up.

I will post pics as and when parts get done..... watch this space for more.

They are quite dirty and should clean up real nice. these pics were provided by seller.

I can't even remember where my slotted premier drum key is.

Thanks guys.

That's the smaller version of the premier timbales Here you have photos of the stand that goes to those drums. They were made between mid 50's and mid 60's. They later were discontinued to make larger sets. If you do not have the stand You can use a cymbal stand just take tilter off

Thank for the reply. I'll have to track down an old Premier Lockfast straight cymbal stand. shouldn't be too hard here in the uk.

Thanks.

Beautiful timbales: Copper and old Prem lugs look fantastic together.

Hi All,

Quick update...

All hardware soaked in white vinigar for a few hours, washed in dish soap and rinsed, dried with hair dryer, and then into tumbler for a few hours. polished on buffing wheel.

Copper shells, cleaned on buffing wheel with a mild soap, then polished.

Just waiting to get some "Pre-International" heads and we're done.

A nice easy project this one.

I am looking at selling them. Any offers... I won't be asking stupid money. Obviously shipping from uk will be extra. Probably not that cheap as they aren't light.

That is going to be a hard sell today those sizes are not used any more. Today those that use timbales have gone to 13/14 sizes or 14/15 all the depending on what they are using them for. Those small sized a drummer may use for the effect of using a timbales.

I'm not from the UK but I've got a Lokfast Cymbal Stand without the top section to offer.

Nice job on the Timbales by the way.
