My everplay head is a smooth white so I just used ethyl alcohol (like the one you used to get in a pharmacy). It probably won't work on a coated head...

Was there a specific year when the bass drum mount went to the round tom mount vs. the traditional tom mount arm (that Ringo used pre-swivo) that descends into the bass drum? I see some bass drums with tom mounts (round) and others with the descending arm. Was this an option for the buyer?
