Premier 303

Hi,

I‘m a new Member from Germany. Into Vintage Gear since 1999, starting with a Ludwig Silver Sparkle

and a Vistalite

....rather playing, not collecting.

I got myself several Snares, though (the ,Classics‘ if you will) which I played on many Recordings and Gigs.

The Ludwigs are great but what I always really liked where Vintage Premier Kits since I have great Passion for the British ‘60s and early `70s Music and Style.

I also noticed how many great (especially British) Drummers used to play Premier before switching to Ludwig after the Beatles got famous (Ringo being one of those).

Three Years ago I found this Premier 303 Silver Star Kit with a complete Set of original Hardware which I enjoy as a high tuned 20“, 12“, 16“ Jazz Kit, leaving the 14“ Tom aside.

I really love the Sound and Looks of those `72 Drums.

I have a Olympic by Premier Silver Star snare I got off of Craigs last year in Oregon...

I was REAL happy to get it...as Prem didn't seem to make too many NON 2001 model wood snares..and I really like the SS finish...it's an 8 lug too!flowers2

One of my prized snares....

Thanks! I'm not a Photographer, but I was lucky enough to get some great Pictures made by Others. The 3rd one was taken for a Sennheiser Microphones Campaign.

Love the solo shot of the Vistalite kit. That's a piece of art!

Also, you look better with the whiskers. :)

Wow, love those Premiers, I have always enjoyed mine. I was going to say,"nice mic's", in that one pic. I have to rethink selling mine now. The Ludwigs are georgous too.

Hi and Welcome,

Beautiful sets and seriously nice pics, too! Congratulations!

My 303 Outfit has just one disadvantage: I love to sit a little bit higher behind the set and the rack toms can't be brought into a high enough position.

Nevertheless, I'm not a pro and therefore it's not essential for survival.

Great drums and photos. You should be very proud. I've got some '30s vintage Premier snares (DeLuxe and Dominion Aces) that I'm crazy about. I would love to have a Premier kit, but alas, no more room.

Congratulations and thanks for sharing.
