I have just bought this drum and just want some info. Some issues like chrome pitting on hoops lugs are common, the shell is COB. The heads are original ever play. The badge i was told is pre serial mid 60's. Any more info would be appreciated.

I have a similar drum the Royal Ace from around 1966 but I think the two are very similar.
If the badge has a serial number it is after 1970 but is basically the same shell and nutboxes as the Ace but with the later 2000 snare throw. No serial and that badge will be 1967-1970.

I always add nylon washers to these old premier snares with cast hoops and slotted tuners as it improves tuning stability.
