I've got my eye on purchasing a vintage kit and to do so am considering selling my first Ludwig Kit to help finance the purchase.

I'm the original (and only) owner of a Ludwig Sky Blue Pearl kit which features a 22 inch bass drum, 13 inch rack tom and 16 floor tom. The bass drum & rack tom are in club date configurations, with pre-serial keystone badges, while the floor tom appears to be a Ludwig Classic with a keystone badge dating it to 1964.

I can assure you that all three drums were purchased together as a kit and have remained that way. I can't explain why the floor tom is NOT in the club date configuration. My guess is that the floor tom with the low serial number keystone badge was pulled from the factory to complete the kit when shipped.

All the drums have their original red felt baseball bat mufflers and there are absolutely no extra holes nor any type of modifications in any of the shells. Both toms have BRAND NEW Remo Pinstripe heads on the batter sides, and I believe that they've got their original Ludwig heads on the bottom sides. The bass drums heads are brand new Ludwig-logo heads.

Both toms have their original white resocoat finish on the interior of the shells, while the bass drum shell is clear. It's my understanding that this was quite common during this period.

Other than the factory-drilled center mount for a straight cymbal arm, the bass drum is a "virgin." The rack tom is mounted with a piece of hardware that came as original equipment to the kit.

I've added some pics which hopefully will give you a good idea of the cosmetic condition of the kit. Unfortunately, the pics I've got of the kit actually set up must be too big to post. However, I'd be more than happy to send it out, should you request it.

I'll be accepting all offers via PM until Thursday evening. At that time I'll be able to determine whether it's in my best interest to sell the kit and use the money to help finance the other kit or to simply keep what I've got and leave well enough alone.
