Practice Pads.. Any good ones?

Finally managed to shatter much of the Edge/Rim off of the old Remo tuneable pad.. Was never happy with the sound of it anyhow and am looking for something a bit quieter. I have a electronic rubber pad kit but am not keen on prolonged headphone use.

Any suggestions welcome.. vintage or modern.

John the real feel pad is two sided, gum rubber on one side and hard plastic to emulate marching drum corp drum heads on the other.

The best practice pad I've played yet is the new Aquarian Super Pad. They come in a bunch of sizes and are designed to be put right on your snare or tom. I use a 12" on a snare stand. Soft enough to give you a workout without feeling too brittle or too spungee. A very consistent rebound regardless of volume.
