Possibly my best score yet

Tonight I drove to the other side of the city to pick up a 1950s Dandy kit. I paid only $50. The guy said it had belonged to his relative since the 50s and had inherited it 15 years ago but only kept it for sentimental reasons. The photos in the ad were quite small so I couldnt see much but for 50 bucks I already considered it a steal.

When I got there I had a close look at everything and got a good shock. The rivetted ride cymbal is a Zildjian A (looks to be 50s) and so are the hats. They are all in great condition. Also the hi hat stand is a WFL Ludwig speed king which also looks to be 50s. All the drums were green sparkle but had faded to brown and even black sparkles in most areas.

Sizes are 22" BD (with original L arm), 15" FT, Two 12" rack toms and a 14" Piccolo snare (all original). Unfortunately the floor tom is missing the bottom rim. Being a 15", 9 lug rim, I dont think I am going to find one any time soon to replace it.

Ill post photos as soon as I can. I just had to post because I just got home and I'm so damn excited Excited Happy Halloween everyone

Maybe you can use a straight unflanged rim and clips. It gets you a bottom head. Fantastic score by the way.

Wado: Are you sure the shells are not Metric sized? You need to measure with the head off. Some metric drums are just a hair smaller or larger than standard sizes, but its enough to cause a headache.
