Ploughman to the rescue: Rogers? snare question Last viewed: 3 days ago

Loading...

I just purchased this snare drum from Guitar Center knowing that it very possibly is not original, period correct, or hell . . . .even a Rogers for that matter. All I have is this one pic at the moment. I love the idea of a 6.5x14 all maple snare especially because I have two kits I can match this to. However, the badge seems incorrect for the timeline. The lady who is selling it says there is no identifying features anywhere on the drum other than the badge. Anyone have any ideas of what this might be?

Those lugs are not Tama, although you could be fooled into thinking they were superstars.

Those lugs resemble those offered by Pearl in the 90's. The shell may be all maple. A picture of the strainer would be helpful. AFAIK, imported Rogers drums still used Beavertail lugs. Do you mind telling us how much is being asked for the drum? Even if not a Rogers, it still has some value based on the deep maple shell.

Here is one more pic. It was $129. Definitely not Rogers.

Likely Rogers import long after USA was a part of the process. Have seen similar snares once in a while but with chrome shell.

It could be from the Brook Mays era.

From verminator

It is from the Brook Mays era. attached is a pic.

As hilariously tiny as those pics are, I think you've solved the mystery - one in the middle looks to be it.
