Well it has hardware matching the Hollywood Ace model, It is a Slingerland 5ply shell... And the badge appears to be 76-78.. It could be a cut down Shell from a 14" Tom... Going by Factory "P" stamp being stamped right on the edge.. (or having been partially severed in a cut down).. also do not see much of a snare bed there.. does it have one??

longjohn you may be right with the snare being a cut down. I have two marching snares myself as well as a couple standard size snares. I've never seen the " P " so close to the edge and looking like it was knicked. I also didn't notice the presence of any snare bed, but could be hard to see in the photo.

Personally - I would offer $100 - $150 on that drum, based on very likely being a cut down from a marching snare. Now that is just me, and I would like to see what others have to say on that.

It just occurred to me to have you inspect the drum for something. If this were a cut down marching snare, It's very likely that it had the drum key holder attached to the drum. If you could check the drum, look for a small ( and I do mean small ) hole that doesn't really seem to have a meaning. If you find one, the chances are good that is from the key holder, and that's the give away.

Either a cut-down shell as mentioned or some other shenanigans going on here.

I'd pass on it, your money would be better spent elsewhere in my opinion.

I thoroughly inspected the drum for the tiny hole you mentioned. I've seen that before on other drums and I couldn't find one on this one. I suppose that doesn't mean it isn't a cut-down, but thanks for trying anyway guys!
