Play a practise pad whilst watching Tele?

From AZBill

My pad's in the garage. I'll grab the sticks and do a little fooling around while I'm out there, but would rather play the kit.As for the B & B reference, one gives you clogged arteries and the other.....well.....nevermind.B

I would MUCH rather play the kit, but I really want to get my muscles used to hours and hours of play. While I play between one and four hours per day, I still want to build myself up to NOT getting tired during three forty-five minute sets!!!

I brought the B & B reference from another forum. Everyone likes B & B, and if you don't- you're merely pretending that you don't!!!

Yeah- I'm THAT guy!!!

One to four hours of practice per day, to do three 45 min sets? You must be old, B-Man!!! Where do you get away with only doing three sets, rest homes? Sissytown? Four sets was standard when I was playing out. Back in my NY days, the bars didn't close till 4AM! And, I worked a full-time job during the week. The world's gone so soft.

As for bacon, it's a killer. Smells good, but kills my tract. As for the other, I'll never pretend to not like those.

PS - What happened to all those cute, annoying emoticons that used to be available for insert? Off to bed (I'm old, too).

The problem is, I haven't played that type of schedule in many, many years. The last couple of bands I have been in only do one hour MAX!!!! We're usually one of three or four bands!!!

Yeah, I practise 1-4 hours per day on a kit, :30-1:30 on a pad, plus whatever I can do between clients at work. I know I could play four 45 minute sets EASILY these days- it's just getting a band that doesn't have to share with three others (and a song list long enough for a three or so set show!!!!).

Yes, I am an old guy who can STILL grow hair!!!

Oh sh**!!!! Gotta listen to talk radio, take my fibre, and get a sponge bath from the HOT nurse!!!! Just a shame I need a little blue pill to act on the nurse... CryBaby

Yeah- I'm THAT guy!!!

Bunny, I haven't played regular gigs since '02. So, I didn't realize time-slots could be shared. Never heard of that, except for maybe larger events. An hour of play vs. all that schlepping; not for me. The music scene here in AZ (The Valley) ain't what it used to be. I'm just glad I don't have to be involved (my current wish). Maybe someday I'll get back into it.

Great that you have that much time to play; wish I could manage a quarter of yours. Rock on, brother!

I have all my hair as well, but keep it short - too "derned" hot here for long hair.

As for your last sentence, HA, HAAAAAAAAA!!!! You got a great sense of humor, bro. Keep up the good work.

I was unceremoniously jettisoned from my last band in favour of a stripper who played a floor tom (no joke!), so I made it a mission to wood shed for a MINIMUM of 1 hour per day. Yes, I now play with ANGER and determination.

But, it has forced me to look into my old teaching methods, and I am re-learning my grip. This hasn't been a bad thing, and it is making me a better player.

As for the last band- the stripper ended up not being dependable (surprise!).

As for me, while it has been a somewhat frustrating road to gigging, the band I am currently in is a lot tighter and we actually practise, rather than drink.

Hey Bunny, if all that practice doesn't work, you might want to try, double-D breast implants and cutting your kit down to a single floor tom! At least you know for sure that it works and will get you gigs! LOL Yes Sir

Too many great drums to list here!

If I'm gonna get double-D's, I might as well work a pole!!! More money than being in a bar band...:p

i get up for work go to my shop where my downbeat is set up ( pics soon )

and i practice in the morning for 30 min. and after work for a little bit no one to say too loud i love it the kit is almost done working on the down beat snare playing a 68 supra

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
