I got in a last second bidding war on this green drum, but lost. Shortly after that, I bought the drum from the auction winner.

As it came to me--–

These Elites were protected by a clear lacquer finish. When you removed the green paint, you must have removed the protective layer also. What are you going to do to protect the black nickel finish, which will be vulnerable to handling, & gradually diminish ? I have an Elite in a similar condition, & have found that a professional re-lacquering job is quite expensive.

much of the black is already gone. I suppose the drum could use a coat of clear lacquer to protect it from further deterioration.

Finding a correct leedy strainer may end up tougher than french kissing a unicorn on a cloud, so that's priority #1.
