Picked up a Jazz Fest and Supra Last viewed: 1 hour ago

So I picked these guys up tonight. The Supra I might keep. This picture is straight from picking it up. No acne at all, date stamp still there, no issue drum from 1967.

The other I am on the fence about. It looks like the inside was repainted at some point. That being said the paint looks EXACTLY the same as my Pioneer. This Jazz fest is also from 1967.

What do you guys think the Jazz fest is worth if it was repainted on the inside? The drum does sound awesome in any case, has chrome hardware and is all mint aside from what I believe is the interior repaint.

Wow, great "pick up"! The Supra is definitely a keeper. You say the interior of the Jazz Fest appears repainted, what about the exterior? I've never seen a Jazz Fest look just like that. Is it a bare white painted shell, or a wrap, or painted wrap? I can't tell from the picture. The Jazz Fest is a great snare, yours might be a good candidate for a rewrap.

beautiful drums. could you post a pic of the jazz festival interior?

the bit of paint that is missing appears to show maple from what I can tell. if so, that's spot on for a factory duco painted drum. plus, if you were to wrap a shell that was originally a painted finish, the outer thickness would be much like wrapping over the wrap. would be a very tight fit or even a trim the wrap below the head situation.

uncommon duco finishes are neat, especially the solids. I recently sold a green pioneer and have a lighter blue auditorium in sold duco finishes.

I believe that the Jazz Fest is a duco finish. My '65 Pioneer has the exact same style of finish and also the same finish issues as this '67. Anyway here are more pictures.

Here is a close up of why I think it is a repaint (maybe a very old one).

I am on the fence with this Jazz fest about keeping it. Not sure of value though if I wanted to sell it. I have seen repainted drums (outisde) go for around $225.
