Can anyone tell me what wire sets were used on snares for marching drums in the 60's?

Update - I finished up the Slingerland Parade King Marching snare last night ... uh early this morning ;) I decided to keep it 14x10. Used an old Remo Black glossy Ambassador for the batter side, an Attack Thin snare head for the resonant side and some old generic 20 strand wires. It sounds pretty good. The black glossy batter gives it a really pingy sound when it's cranked up.

Does anyone have a Slingerland Marching leg rest? The hole spacing is about 4 1/8" from center to center.

Now on to the next project. :D
