Pearl wood-fiberglass kit with 18" BD

You can clearly see from the pics of the original catalog that it looks to be n original bass drum and not a conversion..Indication of this is the vent hole underneath the badge.. If it were a floor tom conversion, the vent hole wouldn't be underneath the badge, as you can see from the original catalog kit, there is clearly no vent hole underneath the badge on the floor tom..

This is just my observation..So in my opinion, it looks to be an original bass drum, and not a floor tom.. The thing that makes this kit funny looking are the over sized toms.. Also, the finish does look to be tampered with..

You got that right! :) Laugh of the day and thank you to the OP and whoever put that kit together...

I know this is an old post but , I have recently scored the full 18 x 14, 12 x 7, 14 x 14 with the original cob 10 lug snare and an additional 16" floor tom, in satin blue. FT is the copper but super rare kit in showroom condition with all original skins fitted never been removed, couldn't believe my luck. Down here in little old New Zealand. Owes me less than $300 bucks after a little horse trading on stuff i didn't want.

got any photos Terry?

I own 2 3-line COB Pearl snares and love them both! They are the most underestimated snares out there IMHO. I got them both for about the price of sales tax on a BB (around 100 USD). I'd love a W/F or fiberglass kit and am hoping one will eventually become my winter gigging kit. Winters are brutal here and those kits are tanks as well as pleasing to me acoustically.

I have a few examples of wood f/glass and f/glass pearl kits , an 18'' floor or b/drum would be good to come across at anytime but you never see them least of all in f/glass shells, in fact the f/glass drums seem to be pretty rare around my neck of the woods, wood f/glass not so. Wood f/glass drums are often advertised as f/glass and by not trusting my judgement I ended up with a wood f/glass kit with out badges that was advertised as f/glass, I remember picking them up and thinking they seemed to light, after getting home and taking off a head it was obvious they where wood f/glass. The seller pleaded ignorance and I believed him as he offered a refund, but I chose to keep them.
