Anyone have knowledge of this red Pearl Valencia badge? Where are the drums from (US market, Europe market, Japan market? How old? How come different badge than seen before?
Pearl Valencia Drums???
Hey there. I owned a Valencia Set in Blue Sparkle. They are Japanese from the early-mid 60s. Most were imported to the US for music stores to serve as a low price option for beginning drummers. They are almost always VERY thin Luan shells, so thin you can hardly believe they could sell it!! Dont drop them!
Thanks for the reply. But, my question still remains unanswered....what is with this red badge?
look inside the bass drum if it has three reinforcement ringe is possibly mid 60's early 60's if it only has 2 rings then 66 68 69..
Red badge nothing special...

The "Valencia" series were Pearl's lower-priced kit's, similar to the Ludwig Club Date and Slingerland Stage Band. You could save some money by the use of the center-mounted lug.
As to the red "Valencia" badge, it was probably in use for only a short time, or custom ordered by a US store. Most badges I've seen where of the black/red variety, which you're probably used to seeing. Hope this helps.

Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got the answer I was hoping for. Thanks to all that responded.
Boo to nothing special. Anyhew, it matters not....I dig'em anyways.
They are the earlier 60s variety of Valencias due to the 3 reinforcement rings in the kick.
Thin shelled drums!
