pearl snare COB?

Loading...

From neorich05

Fun fact, these Pearl snares have the same shell as some Star snares, including some King Beats. Who copied who?

I believed we already discussed this and yet I do not recall our conclusion. As a matter of fact, it very well may be possible that it was never solved at all!

My theory was that the owner/retailer of the Majestic (Deluxe) stencil kit had Star build the toms and BD, and yet had Pearl make him his snare. I doubt there was any stopping someone from doing so if they wished.

Bart - that is a GREAT snare to have in your arsenal if it is your first steel. It will do you well. I get best results when I tune the bottom higher than my top - and typically have to loosen up the bottom gradually to get more crisp - because the tendency (for me at least) is to tighten the bottom too tight resulting in oversensitivity - and resulting in a flapidy wetness - with no cutting edge attack.

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

@Olimpass. Thanx. No, it's 10 lugs, I checked with the seller.

@Drummerjohn. Thanx. I'll experiment with it as soon as it's here. Do (or did) you play yours with the original hoops?
