Christian, I have a Pearl President kit and the shells are made out of a material much like masonite. I know this shell has a proper name, I just cant think of it. But it is a brown color, very smooth and hard with no grain because its not wood. Does yours have wood grain look or texture?

Allright jccabinetts, mine is deffinetly wood not artificial, like epoxy resin or so!
I am not sure if it is a president, but with the lugs...and the rest of it...it probably is!
But it´s not Luan thats for sure!
