pearl president bass drum rail consolette

Loading...

Ive been lurking these forums for the past few months and really like what ive read so far so i figured id join up! I bought a vintage BDP pearl president kit off craigslist Pittsburgh back in 2008.. Sizes are 13,16,20 for $100, and i believe are late 60's early 70's... Yeah i put a few dollars into them but i immediately took off the rail consolette and put the tom on a snare stand.

So my question...Im pretty novice to restoring vintage drums..i have a couple slingerland kits ,a kent set , plus the pearl president kit) ...Ive been watching a few posts here of guys cleaning up there old hardware but just wanted to know what the best thing to use to clean and restore the bass drum rail consolette for the pearl president kit?? It doesnt look very good and i stumbled upon the peice when i was sorting through my vintage drum parts. I just want the kit to look complete and original at this point..Are there any specific products that you experts recommend?

any input would be great.

Thanks-jeff

Hey, post some pics of the Pearl Presidents. There are several people who are fans of the phenolic shelled Presidents as opposed to the wood shelled Presidents. Show the inside of the shells in your pics.

Also, let me know if you are interested in selling the drums.

Thanks.

so can anybody tell me what year these drums are from? I got them on Craigslist back in 08 for 100 bucks! The only money i put into them was new g1 coated tops and remo powerstroke 3 batter and remo powerstroke 4 reso side on the bass drum. The drums sound awesome. I have used the drums as a gigging set and i really like them. The shell constuction inside of the shells are very nice and look very quality for a MIJ set. Any nfo would be great
