To be fair, they had a very big quake down there 2 years ago so compared to the cracks in his house and the road outside these cracks are considered "unnoticeable":)

I actually mis-quoted him. The ad actually read like this:

Pearl Classic 70s Clear drum kit! Selling very cheap. High,Mid,low floor tom & Bass drums only. Has Repairable un noticeable crack in bass and hi tom thanks to quake damage. Makes no difference in sound! This kit has a very beautiful unique sound. Wow! Wouldn't sell but lacking space & scaling down in belongings!Spoke to Cjs music store a couple of weeks back regarding this kit.They told me Very rare indeed of course I knew that!They sold 3 back in 1978 Was very expensive top of the line then!Happy bidding. I didn't pay too much so you could say I got what I paid for. I was just hoping I had got a lot more than I'd paid for.

Andrew, they were very loud sounding kits, I wonder what a wrap job would do to them (if the cracks are repairable)?.. If they did not cost you very much it may be an interesting project..

I think the cracks can be repaired from what I've read but they won't be invisible of course. The thing that's holding me back is likely to be the cost of shipping them from the South Island. I'm trying to keep all my projects cost effective, ie not owe more than they are worth by the time I finish. This one may not fit into that plan.

It may be interesting to give them a frosted finish seeing as the FT is already pretty frosted.
