I recoed all the pawn stars shows and did see this one as well.If I were to make an offer on the Slingy set it would have been under Rick`s.Things are going dirt cheap in this economy and to make anything you have to buy under the dirt! They had the black and gold badge on them so they were pre Niles but I couldn`t tell a lot about the condition or the re wrap.
Pawn Stars
They were a bdp and I thought his offer was good also, you think he knew those hats were K's ?
Watching that episode right now .....who would have thought that Bonham always played a jazz kit?!Laughing H
Yeah, those guys don't know jack about drums.Black and gold badges are 60's not 70's. The owner of the drums didn't even know that, but maybe he bought them in the 70's. Rick said, " if it had another tom on the bass drum it would sell faster". The 14 x14 floor tom was worth the price of admission.
Typically speaking, people who try to sell items to pawn shops are pretty desperate for some quick cabbage. Otherwise, they would put it on the usual routes and wait for the right guy to pay them their price. Rick definitely knows this. I am sure, even though the show doesnt show it, that people do call him back and take his low offers after a bit of time passes too. With all of this being said, it doesn't matter if Rick knew what they were or not, he isn't going to offer anything near what they are worth. He makes it perfectly clear he is all about money with zero sentiment involved and I don't entirely disagree with his line of thinking.....
Another point to ponder is surely there are some members from Las Vegas on this site. If this guy Rick really doesn't know much about drums, a trip to his store probably should be in order. I have seen drums on there before when the camera pans around the shop.......... I have a hunch that he knows a bit more than he let on though.
