From Pedal_Pusher

I will have to send you a tee shirt I have that says "Old Dudes Rock Harder". I always thought that folks who played jazz or other styles made better rock and show drummers. It has something to do with the feel, especially with shuffles. By the way, I will be 68 the day after Christmas.

My wife just found me a nice tee shirt with "Never underestimate an Old Man with a drum set"

I turned 67 last week.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

After all of our years playing, why toss that experience simply because we're "old?" Man if you are blessed with health---go for it!! I'm glad for you. Keep rockin' & let us know how that first gig goes!

Congrats on the gig at 64. Does tie nicely to McCartney. Curious minds want to know: How old are the rest of the guys in the band? Are you actually old, or are you playing with your contemporaries?

I took a gig once at 39 (now 67). I was the oldest and definitely felt it. Next nearest was 33 and the bassist was 29. It consisted of lyric mostly written by the 33-year guitarist and the rest assembled as a band. Not edgy by any means, but down a bit different vein and so it didn't require anything remembered.

In conversations from time-to-time, they would discuss music that I had not been up on at all and simply because they were that much younger. I hadn't stayed connected for some time. Thus the question about the ages of the rest of the band.

Thanks to all that have taken the time to make comments!

The other band members are late 50s and early 60s.
