I've got a vintage 16" Paiste Formula 602 cymbal with an approximately 3/4" hairline fracture right under the "FORMULA 602" that's pressed into the metal. It's been this way since I purchased it several years ago and the crack hasn't spread at all during that time. Then again, I'm not a "heavy hitter" by any stretch of the imagination. The cymbal still sounds great. I've been told that this type of fracture in this particular area is fairly common with some of the earlier Paiste cymbals. Is there anything that can be done regarding this issue? Also, does the cymbal have any value in its "as is" condition? Thanks in advance for your time and your help!
