Hey all, my girlfriend was recently in a pawn shop and saw this for sale, for close to 300$ CAD. She said its not too thin but not too heavy so around a medium weight. She also said it had a small keyhole but still sounded nice. I only have this one pic of the stamp so i would ask if there is a way to narrow down the year based on the stamp. I understand that a keyhole can depreciate the value and that the thinner the cymbal the better. She also added that there was no ink marks on the cymbal but the hole was not the smaller ones but a larger more modern hole. I dont know that much about vintage Paistes so i dont know if they made them with smaller holes long ago. I just guessed it was late 60s-70s but that was just a shot in the dark. If possible id like as many reasons to talk the pawn shop guy down, she said the one working new next to nothing about the cymbal. I understand they are B20, right? Thanks in advance for any advice!
Paiste Formula 602 20" Ride
you can get a 20" cheaper on ebay.
but that's around what they're worth.
i think i saw one with a BIN of $225.
Ah good to know, thanks! I think we're going to head back there this week and try to talk to the person who priced it so we can see if he'll go lower. By looking at that stamp i don't see a serial number so does that mean its pre-serial or were they located somewhere else? Thanks!
its pre-serial (those were the best ones)
prob from the 1960's.
Oh neat! Im excited to go back there with her and test it out this week..i have a feeling its been sitting in this shop awhile so il use that, and the fact that its medium weight to get a better price. It also has a small keyhole apparently so that would take away from the value too.
Thanks again, LudwigLover
