P85 mod for straps instead of strings?

Hi folks,

I bought a 70's Acro recently. I'm not really a collector and I'd like to use grosgrain ribbon on the snares instead of string. Can the P85 be modded to do this?

I would just buy a P-85 and sell the one you have (or swap) People in the vintage market want the throw-offs with holes for cord use.

Edit: I have a P-86 and the right butt plate for strap if you want to trade. I could use that!
