P33 butt plate problem

Hey everyone

I've a problem with my ludwig lm402. I cranck my reso head very tight and when I do so, the hoop of the drumhead touches the p33 butt plate. Because of that I can't tune anymore higher.

Is there a compatible butt plate on the marked that is more slim than the heavy big die-cast p33?

When the butt plate would be slimmer the hoop wouldn't touch the butt plate.

I know that there is the p32 butt plate, but that one has thise crapy screws... Is there one that has tuning rods?

I don't want to drill any holes in my Lm402!

The P32 is the only option I know of.

For what it's worth, Ludwig is supposed to introduce an upgraded P85 along with an associated butt plate any time now.

I guess my first question is...how tight do you feel is necessary for the bottom head? Too tight and there's just no tone. Anyway, Ludwig's own X-Thin snare-side head has a very low collar, so give it a try.
