OT:Mail person needs to learn how to read! Last viewed: 4 days ago

Loading...

I had a Formumite send me $180 2 -1/2 weeks ago for some Gretsch parts,and I didn't get it.....didn't get it...

Today I checked the mail box....there it was...sent to a different street around 3-4 miles away...

Same number...different St!

Someone wrote on the envelope "Not this address!" in big letters, and circled the correct street.

Ya think they would need to be able to read to get the gig!

I'll bet even the zip code was different.

Thank God! I need the parts, and more importantly, I didn't want to get a bad reputation over this. That took three weeks to get to you! I'm glad that we can see that neither one of us was trying some sort of scam.

By far, the worst experience I've ever had with the USPS.

Hi Rik,

Could have been worse...

Around 10 years ago..I had Fed Ex leave around $1,500 worth of Turkish K's around 6 streets SOUTH of me in a garage!

Same 20 as in my address, but Ann N.W.,and I lived at Knapp N.E.

Luckily, the guy was honest, and was moving...when he went out to his garage...he found these 2 strange boxes...and brought them to my door!

The music store I bought them from accused me of stealing them, even though the tracking only showed them getting to Chicago...then disappearing!

Our block went through about 5 years of Post Office horrors like that. Our mailman finally retired last January. Everyone actually gets their own mail and on time now. LOL.

Around here it's FedEx that's a disaster on wheels. My local usps guy is great.

C'mon!! Be nice! You got paid (eventually); honest mistake. Anyway, reading is for idiots.

As much as we all like to rail on the USPS, I've always been impressed that people can scribble in whatever horrible handwriting on an envelope and in most cases it ends up in the right place a few days later. I also find it very telling, however, how many people would choose to spend a little more for FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.

As a former letter carrier with the USPS, I can tell you that all carriers, whether USPS, UPS, or FedEx, are just like drummers. The dedicated ones can read while the casual ones just improvise.
